Terms & Conditions

Participation in our referral program is subject to the following terms and conditions.
  • Modern Life reserves the right to cancel or modify this referral program or your participation in the program, and its eligibility requirements, at any time for any reason.
  • In the event of a cancellation of any policy resulting from your participation in this program, we reserve the right to claw back prorated referral bonuses, and you shall promptly refund such paid referral bonuses to us upon demand by us.
  • Only the first person to refer an advisor to Modern Life can receive the referral bonus, but you can refer multiple advisors.
  • Referral bonuses are available on linked LTC policies in the amount of 0.5% of target premium.
  • Referral bonuses apply to the primary advisor in cases that are split between referred advisors.
  • In addition, referring advisors will receive a $500 introduction cash incentive which is available for any referral introduction meeting completed. This cash bonus is limited to only one award per referred office to the extent more than one person is referred by the referrer in a multi-advisor office. No other referrer may receive the cash bonus with respect to other members of the multi-advisor office if a cash bonus was already paid for the office.
  • You are merely acting as a reference in referring Modern Life and not as our agent, employee or other representative, and you may not bind Modern Life or make any representation or warranty regarding the terms and conditions of Modern Life’s services or products. You will indemnify and hold harmless Modern Life for acts or omissions inconsistent with this condition.
  • You will comply with all applicable laws, rulings and regulations.
  • These terms and conditions and any dispute or Claim shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard for its conflict of laws principles.
  • TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL MODERN LIFE, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR LICENSORS, CARRIERS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS, OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSS RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM.
  • Referral introduction cash incentives are payable once the referring advisor sends an email introducing the referral to the Modern Life representative, and the referral attends a scheduled sales introduction meeting with a Modern Life representative, successful completion of which is determined by Modern Life in its sole discretion.
  • Modern Life will review all properly submitted, personally completed referral submissions to ensure no existing relationship exists and to determine who was the first referrer, if applicable. If a current relationship exists, then no referral bonus will be paid (neither the 5% on year 1 Life Target premium or 0.5% on year 1 linked LTC policies, nor the cash bonus).
